January 26th Normal Week

Well not much to talk about this week....just missionary work

It was a Korean Sister's, who is in our district, birthday on Pday so we ate at a really good resturaunt and played Ping pong for her birthday. then missionary work

Then Elder Batschi and I made an appointment with a less active who has not come to church in 10 years and he and his wife took us out to lunch. They were super nice people, nevertheless they did not come to church. He is a farmer so it is really hard for him to stop working on Sundays and come. Were going to try and help him out at his farm on Saturdays.

We also visited a less active with the sisters. She and her son and daughter were there. They were all very good at English and the missionaries who taught them the gospel also taught them how to play uno. Which is awesome because I havent played Uno in ages. They didnt come to church either but we are going back to visit them soon.

On Saturday it rained so hard. My socks were soaking wet, because I have holes in my shoes it makes it even worse.....but the rain is fun! We also had English Class on Saturday and a couple of awesome people showed up. We had a fun time teaching English.

other than that just a normal week in Korea. This week was a little rough for us because all we did was prosolyte and when you are doing that for 5 hour blocks it gets a little tiring and stressful. Also I have been having Sleeping problems latley where I cant fall asleep and wake up way too often. I am getting drugs from my Zone Leaders soon, so that should go away.

Also this next week we have a mission conference because of a Korean Hoilday and Transfer Calls so there will probobly be some changes in our house. I will let you know!

Love ya!!!!!!! Go Peyton.

Another Week of NOTHING

Well nothing.......nothing but missionary work that is!!!

We had Zone Conference this week. That is where President ans the APs came out to Gangwondo and gave talks and trainings. We Talked abot our mission values Obedient Hardworking and Testifying. It was a really good meeting. After words Elder Batschi and I stayed after a while to do passoff. I finished the Final Zone leader passoff, only one more to go. Hopefully in 2 weeks!! We got home a little late around 930 because of the long bus rides and stuff but we had a really fun time!

The next day I went on exchanges with a new Elder. He is kind of a punk he is a straight outta high school thinks he knows everything kid. He is an extremly rude kid that has some messed up opinions. but the exchange went pretty well. He doesnt proseylte, just follows so I did a full day of work by myself. When we were knocking on doors we met a preacher.

He started bashing on the church and how Joseph Smith wasn't a prophet. He actually knew suprisily alot about our church. He said the Bible is the Only word of God and shared the Revalations scripture every preacher shares with us. Then I asked him if he had ever read the Book of Mormon. He said he hadnt, so i got to testify of the truthfulness of the book. We shared Moroni 10 and gave him a Book. Then all of the next apartments we knocked on were all extremly good contacts. We found a new less active and got a couple phone numbers!!! It was amazing to see.

Then Yesterday in Church I had to give a 10 minute talk on Member missionary work. 10 minutes is usually pretty easy, alas not in Korean. It went pretty well I mostly just read scriptures and testified a whole bunch, but the members seemed to like my talk alot.

Our lesson with our investigator was cancelled this week, but he did send us an awesome text thanking us about prayer. He hasnt anwsered us since.

Life Keeps on Keepin on here in Wonju. Im trying not to freeze, but from what grandma told me Montana is pretty bad too -33 dang thats cold!!

Well Love Ya!!!!!

Hope you have a good week!!!!!

tell Hayden one thing.......If the Seahawks paly the Broncos they will be shredded by Peyton. If they play the Pats, Brady to Collie all day long!!!

Love Ya!!!!

Ripped my pants!

Well a pretty alright week I have a bunch of pictures I can sent you. To start out this week we played ping pong, which has gotten extremly more intense since i have been in Korea. So we were playing a game I got a good hit and I ripped my pants....... pretty bad too. So i went home and changed. That was pretty fun.

other than that we just did typical missionary work here in the subzero environment of Wonju, where I am literally freezing my face off.

Elder Batschi and I have become even better friends this week as you can see by the fort we made together during some down time. We memorized all the Articles of Faith and are now working on Scripture Masteries. Fun stuff.

I passed off again, now my chances of becoming DL are now highly increased. I just have to do 2 more and then I am finished with passoff.

There is really nothing else, but pictures. Love ya!!! Be safe in the Grand Canyon and go Power Ranger it up. I llove all the Pictures Shayna sents me its the best!!!!

Love ya!!!!

January 5

www.korealdspanewsletter.com here is our Korea newsletter its pretty new!!! check it out!!  I am in a few pictures.

Well it was a pretty uneventful week not much to talk about....

Im glad you had fun in Great Falls. Looking at pictures of Grandmas house, gyros and hearing about Skiing and cousins is awesome, but at the same time I want a gyro so bad!!

New Years was like any other night, but Koreans somtimes go by the Lunar Calendar and it restarts on Jan 31st we will also have another mission conference then.

This week Elder Hone one of our Zone Leaders came on exchanges. He is awesome and played basketball at Weber State with Damian Lillard. Pretty Sick. He is a hillarious guy and I loved talking with him while he was here. Also Elder Batschi, Hone and I all like Zombies. So during dinner and down time we talked about the Zombie Apocalypse and what we would do if it happened here. I came to the conclusion I would just give myself up because there will eventually be too many zombies in Korea.

We tried to find a Less actives house and we found a place called DD Chicken

It was Elder Murdocks bithday on Wednesday so we bought him a unicorn Ice Cream cake and ate it after District Meeting. We also found a very good apartment complex where we gave away 4 Books of Mormon in 14 doors. Pretty Awesome!

After dinner one day we had some extra time so we went to the church. Elder Batschi found some pre recording, like the ones on our piano and fake played to them. super funny I got a great video on our phone. Then we got to play real life Frogger. We got caught in traffic while we were in the middle of the road. long story short we both made it across.

we had an AMAZING lesson with our investigator this week. Usually I cant understand him because of his lisp, but I understood him alot! He is part of the Unification Church, look them up they are crazy, but He read the Intro to the Book of Mormon and got pretty interested. He was super confused about religion now and thinks the Book of Mormon is a really good book. Then he prayed at the end of the lesson. it was Awesome!!

Lastly While knocking on doors a lady let us in and gave us the NASTIEST, GROSSEST drink i have ever drank. It was something like silk worm larvae juice. so gross.....

Well thats it!! I Love ya I know this is the True church! With the New Year comes Resolutions, and one of mine is rededication. I want to go so hard this year in my mission. I want to study harder, and learn better. Hopefully I can do that. We have a saying here..생해복많이받으세요! roughly translates to Take Luck( Brian Reagen Reference) but Korean peope are really positive and look forward to the new year. which is super good!!! LOVE YA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Christmas Letter

Elder Theurer-  Family met him in Nauvoo
 Sister Fan dance
MTC District in Seoul,  My Collection of  Cheep Ties
so......hi.

It was really good to talk with you on Christmas. I was the only one in the house who wasnt a cry baby. I cant beleive you told me about Thor 2...I hate you.

Well I will tell you what we did for Christmas!! Because we live far away from Seoul we slept at the temple on Christmas Eve. Then the next morning our Christmas breakfast was McMuffins at good ole McDonalds. Then we went to a Conference. First we had the spiritual part where President and Sister Christensen talked alot about feelings and giving. Sister Christensen shared a video called West Jet Christmas, its good look it up! Then President focused on the wisemen. Its kinda cool that the wisemen took about 18 months to 2 years to find Christ. It sounds slightly familiar to something im doing right now. Then we had a great lunch filled with sandwiches, soup and LOTS of fudge, pretzels, cookies, brownies all baked goods filled with love!

Then we started the fun part. It started with Pentatonix, Little drummer Boy. Look that up too. Good treat that president gave us. I love Pentatonix. Then we had lots of talents and videos shown and we laughed alot. The Korean sisters did a fan dance for us it was pretty sweet I have a picture of it for you to enjoy.

Then we came home and opened presents. I love all the candy and the 100 verses to bring you closer to Christ book is awesome, but the most favorite present is the basketball hoop as you can see from the videos:) The pajamas are also sweet I love rockin the BYU gear! the slippers keep my feet warm and the Twinkies had the Sweetest comeback ever.

Well I have lots of pictures for you, speaking of pictures, I showed mine to our branch president....he said they were lame and I need more and better, more stylish pictures.Help? Also the Korean sister missionary said Malorie and Shayna were the cutest. Koreans love your blonde hair.

Other than that not much else to talk about! Christmas was the only big thing this week.
Well I love ya I hope you enjoy all of the pictures and movies send me some in packages and through email. I need a good picture of Gavin and Hayden everyone thinks that they are both older than me. LOVE YA!!!!! HAVE A GOOD NEW YEARS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

December 22,2013 Chop Stick Champ

Ok So 4:00 your time, I will call you then, I have about an hour to talk with you! I will call the house phone. I can bear my testimony but in english not in korean. I have seen Studio C alot. But not divine Comedy.

This week Elder Smith left and Elder Edwards came. Im sad to see Elder Smith go. He is probobly one of my favorite house mates. I loved him! Elder Edwards is pretty nice he was a Zone Leader in the MTC he was a little Power hungry back then I guess we will see what being a DL does.

Because Elder Smith was leaving we had a couple of appointments with members! We had an appointment with one guy who used to be a fat karate teacher with long hair. He showed us a news recording where they interviewed him at his academy. Then he showed us a Michael Jackson concert comparing his hair. So we watched Thriller and Billie Jean.....

I just want to let you know I am dang good at chopsticks now. I can steal food from other peoples chopsticks so fast. We ocasionaly put a cady or one piece of food in a bowl and whoever gets it eats it. I am pround to annouce that I beat three koreans at once!! Also we had a meal with a members and a sister said I am the best foriegner using chopsticks she has ever seen! You can tell Brother Graves I am really good now.

Then we had a Christmas party with the ward. I got to dress up as Good ole Saint Nick, the one and only Santa!!! Sorry I dont have a picture at the moment I have to get it from the Sister missionaries. I gave out cookies to little kids and presents to ward members. Then we watched the Music from the Christmas Devotional and then the missionaries did a skit. We did something called squatty bodies, which is a mix between the midget dance we did at the Family reunion and Helping hands off of Whose line is it anyways. I was the arms for Elder Murdock and we were doing the Life of a missionary. So we woke up ate breakfast, cereal i threw at his face. then excersized brushed his teeth, slept during Personal study, then made a mess of lunch eating curry, rice and kimchi. The ward members loved it!!! They thought it was so funny!!!

Then yesterday we picked up a new investigator we are teaching him English, we taught him the names of numbers yesterday. He is 20 years old and has a SUPER bad lisp so he is so hard to understand. He is a funny akward guy so it should be pretty fun!

Well not much else. I cant wait to talk to you on Wednesday. I hope you have a really Merry Christmas.Always remember the true meaning of Christmas. The Savior came into the world there is a saying here in Korea, 기쁘다구주오셨네 The equivelent in English is Joy to the World. It really is a Joy. Without the savior we wouldnt have the lives we have today. I have grown to KNOW my savior more and what he has done for me. I guess that is what a mission is for. LOVE YA!!!!!!!!! MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Love
 Miles

December 15,2013

 Dear Family,

That 21 day plan is awesome I have never heard of it before. I am absolutely sure that the plan will work. It is really cool that the members are becoming more involved with member work, i wish they had the same kind of stuff over here because we could really use member work. It really makes missionary work so much easier when members help. Do the plan it will be a great experience.

Well Transfer calls were this week and I will be staying in Wonju with Elder Batschi! Elder Smith will be leaving and becoming ZL in my greenie area. Then an Elder from my MTC group is coming here to become DL. All of the Elders in our house are now in their 4th transfer or less! SCARY!!!!!!!

Well this week I had a pretty cool expereience. We were Knocking on doors and a guy came out to talk with us. At first he listened to us and then he started talking more. He started saying that he knows about the Mormon church and we cant teach him any more than he already knows because we dont speak Korean well. Then He started going off about how the Bible is the only word of God. As he was speaking I felt the spirit SO strongly. After he finished Elder Batschi and I bore Testimony of the Book of Mormon It was so Powerful. I literally couldn't breathe. but long story short He wouldnt take a Book of Mormon, but after he shut the door we wrote some stuff in the cover of the book and put it on the doorway. I dont know what will happen but we will see.

It snowed quite a bit here this week! The coldest it has gotten is -7 degrees not including the humidity or wind....so it got ALOT colder. I freezer burnt my face because of the wind. The snow is awesoe though. It makes it hard to talk to people because they all have hands shoved in their pockets and faces down but its still pretty fun!

Also this week I got the door slammed on me twice by two little kids. not a great experience.

I had the great pleasure of going to the bathroom on a squater. See picture.

Koreans love my English pronnunciation. The Korean sister in my District says I am the best one and now I am now the official Wonju Missionary English Teacher.

I will also dress up as Santa Clause for our Ward Christmas Party. Elder Smith and a member we had a dinner appointment with told me I need to get fatter. So they gave me a plate more than everyone else to eat.

Thats it! Love ya Lots! Can wait to talk to you on Christmas! 4:00 MST.

The pictures are the squater, a re;igion sign on a door, the stocking, me catching Elder Smith and Me and Elder Smith taking  nap on Pday.
