 Can you understand any of this?  I am beginning to understand.

Happy Fourth! Miles will be for sure in the Seoul, Korean Mission.  The one he has been called to.  He is doing great.  Mostly sends quick emails and then letters.  DOING GREAT!  Loves the MTC.

Seriously letters are a huge pick me up. After gym time we have about 40 mins of prep but I shower and get ready in 10 so I have 30 mins to write. So that's not a huge problem. That sucks for Tim, but the poem is great. I just printed it out. Keep me posted where he is going. 

 

Yesterday was the best day here by far everything seemed to click and work perfectly together. My companion who I always have to drag out of bed and he always makes us late got up. In personal study I kept busy finding scriptures that I needed. and the Korean was flowing from my mouth and I was understanding the teachings. It was an awesome day. I hope you like the cultural tidbits in my letter I will keep you posted with more. Apparently my address was a mistake to begin with so Yes I'm leaving JUL 29. The older set of Korean missionaries are leaving Monday at 230 am, then we get a new batch of elders and sisters. It amazes me how we were in there place and no longer be the worst Korean speakers. I figured out the pic situation so this should be the last multi email pictures.( I had to turn the size down on my camera) 

 

One cultural tidbit before I go then pics. In Korea there is no such thing as door to door it is all street contacts. its kinda cool. Bro. Sung said that in Seoul you will not be able to feel the sidewalk because of how many people are walking along the streets. 

 

Have you heard anything about that big devotional in the Marriott Center with all of the apostles. there are a lot of weird rumors going around here.Elder Arnold from the quorum of the seventy gave a great talk about our purpose and how we can become better missionaries.  It reminded me of something Grandmas Franson said, "with all these pryers how can you fail."  One thing that stuck out to me too was a scripture.  Exodus 4: 10-12.  Telling that we are all different and that we all work at our own pace.  It was also amazing to look back and see the MASSIVE amounts of missionaries coming to and from the Marriott center.  I know I am here for a reason.  Language is hard but I can do it.  

 

 In your last letter you said I should sing. That made me laugh so hard, because I went to choir and I couldn't do it. They sang so weird so I go on splits with Elder Luke while our companions go to choir as we study.  We just could not keep up with it, so we have our own fun. I will write more soon with more cultural stuff and more Korean words maybe. Gavin I will hunt you down if I don't hear more about the finals. You failed to tell me about a certain 36 point spurs win.;)

THE DISTRICT

 We got a new teacher today his name is Brother Campbell he was the investigator we have been teaching all last week. This is an intense experience but I know I'm here for the right reasons. My time is up soon so I got to go but If you want to email back and forth I will almost always be on the computer from 1030 or so to 12 just leaving to get laundry. Well my time is up so I got to go I hope I can get this picture thing sent out. Also send me pictures in a letter or package or something they would be nice to have.

Miles was busy figuring out how to download pictures on his computer time today.  Not much of a email,  promised to have a letter in the mail soon.  Still trying to get things figured out.  Mom wants questions answered so can't wait until another letter.

First email home

For future reference don't send me an email through your i pad I have to sort through so much stuff to find the letter it just makes it so much easier. I wrote a letter this morning telling you some stuff.  My companion is Elder Redd you can read about him in my letter.  The first day we got our name tags dropped off our luggage and went straight to class where I heard nothing but Korean for 3 hours. We then had a couple of meetings met the MTC president dinner then a Zone meeting we are one of the largest zones in the entire MTC.  It is great the spirit here is so amazing. My P days are on Fridays obviously so I will write you and everything then.  Please tell someone to get on Facebook and tell them I can do email, regular letters or DearElder.com, it is one of the funnest things when you have mail. My ZL(I have 3) are Elder Allen, Elder Kahn(from New Zealand) and Elder Nemelka(I knew him from high school).  We played basketball yesterday and it was way fun I was on a team with Australian and from Texas Elders both going to Korea. We are going to play district volleyball soon and it will be a perfect 6 on 6.  The classes here are very long but great! The Spirit exists everywhere.  I am the Sr. Companion, so I'm the leader.  I tell you more about this in my letter but I am planning new stuff for our companionship to help us. 

We have to teach a lesson today to an investigator without the help of English. It is sooooo hard! I have everything written out.  My goal this week is to get the alphabet down and memorized.  It is starting to come a little bit. We were taught sentence structuring and conjugation and I was the first one to get it and explain it to others. I'm not gonna lie I feel like I'm in over my head.

It is the strangest experience to look down and see my name on the name tag. It is wonderful here and I love it!  I am at a computer where there is nothing for my camera so hopefully pictures next week, I don't take many pics.  Keep the letters and packages coming strong! Send me food that I can keep in my room plus more soda like Dr pepper and mtn dew(that was a great idea keep it coming)(also don't forget creamery brownies.. I desire those!) also VERY important! send me the Diedes address. I need it to write Austin and everyone back. also one more request. Shayna get on Facebook start a message with Elizabeth Davidson, Valerie Ostvig, Riley Carter, Lydia Theobold, Alex Boswell, and Mark Neumiller and ask them for their emails... better yet tell them to email me or send me letters it is so awesome.

Well I got to go I have to go pick up my laundry and get to lunch!

Miles leaves tomorrow May 29th.  12:45 family will get a brief moment at curb side at the MTC.  We are locking the doors so we get two brief moments.
